On 1st April 2020, National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) are increasing.
There are different NMW rates depending on the worker’s age and whether they are an apprentice. NLW is the highest of the rates and it applies to workers aged 25 and over.
Year | 25 and over | 21 to 24 | 18 to 20 | Under 18 | Apprentice |
April 2019 (current rate) | £8.21 | £7.70 | £6.15 | £4.35 | £3.90 |
April 2020 | £8.72 | £8.20 | £6.45 | £4.55 | £4.15 |
It is against the law for employers to pay workers less than the NMW or NLW, or to falsify payment records.
Masstemps Ltd have stringent checks in place to ensure that workers are paid at least NMW and NLW. Can your current labour provider promise the same?
